The Imperial Eagle is a 36-gun frigate, modeled after the SMS Thetis, which was acquired from the Royal Navy by the Prussian Navy on January 12th, 1855.
The Imperial Eagle is powered by an advanced flight and hover system. The sails can be used for an extra boost of speed, but are frequently kept furled, and the advanced steering system has been integrated into the traditional helm steering. When anchored, the Imperial Eagle can stay suspended for up to five hours before having to dock and refuel.
The ships official colors are black and white, and the official symbol of the ship is the black, imperial eagle that is featured on the crew's crest. The ship flies the official flag of the Kingdom of Prussia, as well as a black Jolly Roger flag – the iconic symbol of the pirate - featuring a skull with two crossed swords.
The body of the ship is made of a finished exotic, dark cocobolo wood, while the captain's cabin and the officer's quarters are furnished with Bolivian rosewood. The officers quarters feature beds, and the crew all have their own (very comfortable) cots. There is speculation amongst the crew that the captain has a mini-bar in his quarters. The engine and steering systems are made of a high-quality titanium.
The crew themselves are best described as a rag-tag team of misfits, none of which conform to one specific stereotype of pirating, if any. The captain, himself, will be the first to admit that his crew is a bit of a motley one, having picked up anyone he feels would fit in or do the job well. He doesn't care if his crew is organized, uniform, or even if they get along, as long as they do their jobs. However, his habit of rejecting mediocrity in childhood has carried with him into his adulthood, and he is actually quite picky about the performance of his crew members.
The ship has five holding cells for prisoners, all of which are very small and rather unused. If asked about the reasoning for this, the captain explains with a wicked grin that he doesn't take many prisoners. The punishment for any attempted mutiny or continued back-talk to the captain is a series of lashes. In the case of disobedience or insubordination, the guilty party receives only one warning before they are dismissed from the crew. Those that are dismissed from the crew are often never heard from again.
