Dear Diary,

Ah! I’m so happy to have found this. Big brother had given me this diary to me for my birthday, the one before he left, but I never really got around to writing in it. At least until now! Hehe. Vash always said says it’s important to keep records. So I should keep a record of everything that has happened in my life so far!

Well… I left home. Oh Vash isn’t going to be very happy about that… I can just hear his lecture right now. But it isn’t like I had much of a choice. He’s been gone for so long now, and with no letters from him, I’m worried. And he would do the same if I went missing!

Still I would have never imagined how many things would happen! It seems like just yesterday when I left home, sneaking out the window leaving behind a note, and then going to the port city and finding work on a merchant ship. Who would have thought though that I would end up on a pirate ship? Hehe! The world is an interesting place~!

Right now I’m a mem- Ah no! I’m the medic of the Grim!! Oh I never would have thought that I would be a medic of all things. Actually I had never expected to join the crew… I had just been lost when the Captain found me, and then protected me from rather… Unpleasant men. I think Vash would like him! He’s really become like another brother to me, ah! Not that I would ever tell him that. It’s embarrassing – especially since I doubt he thinks of me as a sister. I’m just another member f his crew.

Ah, but it really has been an adventure since! Everyone on the Grim is very nice, though a lot have come and gone since I joined. Really, the Captain and James are the only ones who have remained the same since I joined – and James was the one who supported me when I wanted to join the Grim! The Captain wasn’t that happy about it, but I insisted! After all, a pirate ship might be the best place to be on in order to find Vash!

Oh… I hope I can find him… I’m sure he’s safe, I just, I’m so worried…

I’ll find him though. It’s only a matter of time! After all –

Oh… The Captain’s calling! It sounds like something’s happened… So I guess that’s it for now!!

Dear Diary,

There are times I forget just how sheltered I have been. Being on the Grim, and the merchant ship before, have naturally opened my eyes but… But there are still times where I forget how dangerous the world really is.

Today we had docked in a city, well we’ve been docked for a day or so now technically. Today was the day I left the ship though. I ran low on medical supplies, so I had thought I would just make a very quick trip and do some shopping. The Captain said it was okay, and I hadn’t planned on being gone for very long.

Hehe, that did change when I saw a shop selling hats, and I spent a good hour or two looking at them all. Aaah, but the Captain doesn’t need to know about that! Hehe! So I ended up staying out later then I had planned. By the time I started heading back to the ship the sun had already set. It was a bit frightening… But I knew I would be alright plus I had the pistol James always hands me when I’m going places alone. The Captain never approves, so James always gives it to me and always says “a cute lil sheila like you’ll get harassed without someone like the pom or me glarin’ behind you!” whatever that means hehe.

When I cut through the park though… I met a very interesting man. He was German, and very familiar. I couldn’t help but feel like I had known him. Maybe that’s why I was so quick to help him? He’d hurt his head, so thankfully I had bought a new first aide kit! He said he was part of the Imperial Eagle… And I could just hear the Captain’s lecture if he ever found out I helped a rival ship… Which is why he can never find out! I don’t want to get kicked off the ship!

Ludwig, oh that was his name! He was very nice. I couldn’t imagine why anyone would want to hurt him. And then when we had been about to leave (I insisted on helping him to his ship) a bunch of thugs came. Ludwig had tried to protect me, he even told me to run, but he was so hurt, and only got more injured…

I ended up shooting a man… Oh I hope he’ll be okay, even if he was a “bad guy”, I really do hope he’s okay…

I still can’t shake the feeling either that I had known Ludwig from somewhere. It really is odd, but I really could have sworn I had met him before… Ah in the end though I we managed to get away and back him back to his ship, even though he tried going on without me once we reached the docks. I followed him heh

It’s still so odd… I really could’ve sworn I know him from somewhere. But these feelings of familiarity are becoming more and more common with each passing day. It’s a very curious thing…
