Lovino was bored. He'd already finished the repairs he'd been commissioned to do the day before and had finished all the daily things he had to do around his store hours ago. Since then he had just been wallowing about the store front for once actually hoping someone would step into his store. Preferably a beautiful woman, but honestly he'd take even a smelly man at this point. As long as they weren't idiots. He couldn't stand stupidity, and indeed he had lost some customers because of that. Not his problem though. Even if he could use the money... Tch whatever, he'd survived on less.
For now though he had nothing to do. He had gotten to the point where he was just doodling on the back of a random piece of paper he had found somewhere. Curious, he turned it over to find it was an electric bill. Crap. Shrugging, he turned it back over and kept doodling, figuring the guys at the electrical company could either accept the paper with its doodles, or they could just suck it. Either way, he would just keep doodling boredly until hopefully someone would come in.
God damn it, if someone's coming to his store they better get here soon already.

"Go and get this fixed. Or don't come back!"
That had been his orders, though it didn't stop James from groaning as he walked down the busy streets. Honestly, it's not like he'd meant to break the Captains stupid watch. All he wanted was to look at the time and then the Brit had gotten all huffy about it. So James had felt it was fully justifiable to snatch the watch and play keep away. Which may or may not have been the smartest of things. But hey, sometimes the Captain needed to loosen up!
Of course... James hadn't anticipated tripping and then dropping the pocket watch, and breaking it as a result.
Now he was suppose to get it fixed? The Australian sighed, looking around for a shop. Alright, someplace cheap was probably his best bet. As it wasn't like he had a lot of money. Someplace cheap... Someplace...
He blinked halting in front of a well, deserted shop. So that meant it was either incredibly expensive, or...
Well at least he wouldn't have to wait in line. Nodding to himself he opened the door, poking his head in. Maybe it was deserted because it was closed? "Er, you open?"

Doodling kept him surprisingly occupied and soon he was flat-out drawing a pretty detailed figure. This happened a lot with him, drawings littering much of his room in the back since he didn't have that many books to keep him occupied. It was something to keep him busy when he had down time and it did a good job. Sometimes too good a job.
This was the case today for Lovino as he didn't even hear anyone come into his store. So, when they called out, he jumped in his seat. This caused him to accidentally bang his foot into the counter he was drawing on and make him lose his balance, toppling both the stool and himself, swearing profusely as he fell, onto the ground. "Shit..." he grumbled to himself, rubbing his head with one of his hands.
Sitting himself back up, he glared at the direction that the voice had come from and called out, "Obviously moron. Are you coming in or not? I don't need you wasting my time." He realized of course that yes, he hadn't really been doing anything before the other person had shown up and yes, he didn't need to be so short with what may be his only customer for the day. But damnit, he had a reputation to uphold. The last thing he needed on top of everything else was for people to think he had gone soft.
He stood himself back up, brushing himself off and acting like he hadn't just done something incredibly embarrassing. Of course, the slight flush on his face spoke of a different story, but he'd never acknowledge it. So he just stood there, crossing his arms expectantly. "So? What do you want?"

James could only stare at the odd brunet who had fallen on the ground, before bursting out into peals of laughter. Not even noticing the glare he was receiving as he stepped fully into the shop, grinning as his laughter calmed. Strolling to the front counter, the others sharp words seemed to just bounce off him. When he stopped in front of the counter, he fished into his pocket before pulling out the broken pocket watch.
"D'you think you could repair this mate?" He held it out, the grin never fading. "Kind of broke it and my captains ready to have me head if I don't get it fixed."
The Australian really hoped so. Otherwise he was going to be scrubbing the deck with a tooth brush.
(Sorry for the lame/short response OTL; )

He bristled at the laughter ready to throw the other out right there and then. So what if he had fallen! It could happen to anybody, it's not like there's anything funny about it! And he was going to make damn well sure that whoever this was got it through their thick skull that there was nothing. to. laugh. at. god damn it!
However, just as the other finished with his inane laughing he pulled out a pocket watch. And however much he hated to admit it, he loved working on pocket watches. This one looked like a nice one too; it would make it easier to repair because the parts were probably sturdier, but it might be more complex so it'd more difficult in that sense. And he hoped he wouldn't have to replace a part as he didn't have too many spares...
Shaking himself out of his thoughts, he fixed a glare at the strange man before him and replied, "Of course I can, it's what I do. I make my living off of guys like you." Even though he hated dealing with guys like him, much preferring his female customers. But, well, his cabinets had been getting rather empty as of late and while he didn't like his customers for the most part, he didn't like being hungry even more. So, he'd suck in his pride and ignore that outburst of laughter in favor of work.
(So... slow... sorry >>;;; ))

(Don't apologize XD; I'm slow too these days)
His grin never faded, even at the glares the shop keeper had sent him. Though he had to blink at the statement. "'Guys like me'? It isn't even mine. Like I said, it's my captains! I don't need a stupid watch to tell me the time!" For all the time he had spent outdoors James had required the talent of being able to tell the time just from the suns position.
Grin not faltering though he kept the pocket watch held out to the other, waiting for him to take it. He only hoped it wasn't damaged beyond repair. If it was, well maybe he could snag the captain a new one? "So you can fix it?"
He also hoped it wouldn't be too much...

He gave the Australian a sharp glance. "Tch, I knew that, your clothing isn't nearly as nice as this pocket watch is." With that he took the watch from the other, holding it and turning it over in his hand. "Hmm, nice quality. Looks Swiss-made..." He opened it looking at the face of the watch, noticing the cracked glass and the unmoving hands. "...You dropped it didn't you. Sheesh, these things are sturdy but you have to be more careful damn it. I can fix it though, no worries. Just come back in an hour or two and I'll have it done."
He could already tell it was just a minor fix, probably just some gears had gotten jammed or too loose. Whoever this was had gotten lucky, besides the glass being cracked (he'd have to replace that) it seemed to be in pretty good shape. Already his mind was turning, thinking about the things he'd have to get out and where he'd put those spare parts last... Turning back to the other he spoke again. "Well? Are you going or what?" Without waiting for an answer he set the watch down and started working.

The sharp glass, and what was probably meant to be an insult, bounced off James as he continued to watch curiously. He wouldn’t lie, he was a bit amazed that he was able to tell the watch might be Swiss-made just from looking at it. Though, his amazement faltered at the remark. A nervous laugh escaped him, the Australian rocking back onto his heels with his hands in his pockets. ”Well… I hadn’t meant to drop it…” The reassurance that it could be fixed made the nervousness fade. ”Ah! Seriously? That’s awesome mate!”
Despite the remark that he could leave and just come back, James stayed put. He’d never actually watched someone fix a watch before. And he couldn’t help but allow the earlier curiosity from returning. ”Mind if I hang around to watch?” But the odd Italian was already off to work; and he half expected that he hadn’t even heard him. Oh well, James would just look around then.[/color]
