Name: Sydney Lucy Browning
Country of Origin: Principality of Wy
Gender Female
Age: The tender age of 13
Height: 5'1 [short hahahaha /KICKED]
Weight: 118 p
Appearance:
Sydney is, by every mean of the word, cute.
It's just unfortunate that her personality isn't very.
A short girl yes, with long light brown hair that she ties in a bauble on the left side of her head. She ignores the local fashion, no dresses, no cravats. She settles with a simple white tank top [she goes through several of these because they alway wind up covered in paint] and a pair of shorts that looks like she hacked away at them herself. Which she did. She also wears a pink sweater, which she somehow has managed not to get paint on, particularly because she's quite attached to it.
One particular aspect of her appearance, that she is quite sensitive about, is her two large front teeth. She hate, HATES it when people point them out, she hates the nicknames associated with buck teeth [like beaver], and if you do these things, don't be surprised if she kicks you in the face.
Crew member of: Hopefully England's~ Because of a certain Aussie~
Status: MASCOT /SHOT
Pet: Does her paintbrush count? /SHOTAGAIN
Personality:
Sydney is, to sum her up in one word, a brat. She is impulsive, prideful, sometimes manipulative, and hard to get along with.
So, in other words, a young teenager.
But it would be unfortunate to dismiss her as just that. It is hard to look past her flaws, but deep down, she is, like everyone else, human. And thus, capable of being kind. You just have to look for it.
For the most part, the side you will see is the snot-nosed kid that you are not sure you like. She is loud-mouthed and opinionated, which is never a good combination. She also doesn't always know when she goes too far, which has cost her some friends in the past. Oh well! Who needs them, right?
In truth, her teenage anger is much deeper than most. A fair bit of her attitude stems from an abandonment issue. She feels like she is alone, and because no one will accept her, she has to live on her own and be independent. Even if she has to steal to survive.
But Sydney isn't an idiot. She can feel compassion, she can feel remorse. If she realizes she has hurt someone terribly, she will feel just as terrible, maybe more so. Her mischievous side has cost her, however, she does know how to make amends. It might take her a while to apologize, but she can do it. If you are lucky enough, she might even paint you an apology.
If there is one thing you'll learn about her quickly, it is that she hates her first name. A lot. And she isn't even sure WHY [take a guess]. But she despises it, so she insists that her real name is her middle name; Lucy. She will glare daggers at anyone who calls her Sydney, and there has not been someone that she will allow to call her that. Not yet anyway.
History: Some people were never meant to be parents. Unfortunately for Sydney, she lived with that kind of people. Her real parents, like ones in the old stories, left her on a door step when she was a baby. Obviously, they didn't know what they were doing, because the people they left her with were not what you would call parent material. They tried to love her, really they did. When they first saw her on their doorstep, they thought they could make it work. But it was a downhill journey from there.
Her childhood was...eventful. She was a troublesome child, mischievous and reckless. She got into the most trouble out of any kid she knew. Her parents tried to fix it, but Sydney was too stubborn to change her ways. As innocent as her mischief was, her unwilling parents couldn't handle it. They couldn't handle the talks, the gossip, the pressure of raising a “monster” child into a normal one. If only Sydney knew what would happen. If she did, she would have changed. So very very quickly.
The only reason it took so long was because of her art. It gave them hope. She is a brilliant artist, her best works are of nature, particularly beaches. She painted to pass the time when she wasn't up to something, and she was very proud of her work, and still is. She loves to paint, to use crayons, coloured pencils, to make anything! Her creative mind gave her parents something to like, to feel relief from everything else. She knew this, which only increased her drive to do more. It became an obsession. But, it still wasn't enough. It could never be with them.
She was used to losing friends. She was used to them getting fed up with her. But she always felt that her parents had her back. That they would stand by her.
It was nothing more than a fantasy.
One day, Sydney walked into an empty house. She had been in school all day, hung around in a park for a few hours, then came to this. Furniture, clothes, supplies. All gone. Her parents nowhere to be found. She considered robbery but, her mother was always home. Sydney sat in her empty home for hours, waiting for them. They never came back.
Why did she have to change who she was for them to stay? Couldn't she be who she was and be loved all the same?
If she couldn't, then she didn't want parents. She didn't need friends. She could live by herself!
Determined by this, Sydney ran from her home. She ran far, far, to the beach. If she couldn't live in that house, then she'd find another. She searched and searched, and behold! An abandoned cargo crate, big enough to fit a pillow and blanket and hold her art supplies. She could do this, she could! She painted and painted and sold them for food money. That's all someone needed, a shelter and food, right? Ah, but sometimes her paintings didn't sell. What to do then? Oh, that lady isn't looking. Her wallet is in the open. She doesn't need it right? She has a family.
Sydney has lived like that for a month, and still is.
