Name: Cái Matheus Chaves
Country of Origin: Macau
Gender Male
Age: 16
Height: 5”5
Weight: 131
Appearance:
Cái has got the best from his parentage - not the tallest, but skinny as a stick with tanned skin, slanted dark brown eyes and dark brown hair. He keeps his hair relatively short - and gelled so it stands up in soft spikes above his head, but when wet it’ll hang down nearly touching his shoulders. He has what most would term an ‘innocent looking face’ up until they get to know him - then they call him deceiving. He has three preferred ways of dresses - his favorite would be well-tailored suits, followed by traditional chinese garb and finally whatever colorful things he picks up to where while out on the seas as suits and traditional clothes aren’t best suited for being out on the waters. Or in the air.
(if you want a better idea of what he looks like, check out candesceres.livejournal.com/44153.html#cutid1 and scroll down - I just didn’t want to take her picture without asking)
Crew member of: Both the Lucky Dragon and La Madre Maria
Status: Crew member
Personality: The term that describes him best is ‘yandere’. He has the small part of him that is cute and cuddly - which is mostly reserved for specific people (hinthint: Port... and sometimes HK) - and overall he seems nice and innocent. Until he goes all triad!boss on you for a transgression - or money, he’s crazy for money. He’s a total momma’s boy - and has an addiction to all foods portuguese, especially their candy.
He gets along with most anyone at first - especially if he wants something from you - but there is a line that he draws - it may be different per person, but if you cross it, pray that you get a steely glare instead of just steel in your face. He is dangerous, no matter how cheerful or harmless he may seem at any time.
It's hard for him to get to the point where he can trust someone with himself - very few manage it, especially after what happened to him. But if you do manage to get close to him, he will go out of his way to keep you safe and protect you - because who knows. Someday, someone may come to harm you. And he knows he won't be able to stand back and watch again.
History: Little Cái was adopted into a family with a Macanese father and a Portuguese mother - who owned one of the largest casino’s in all of Macau and were also part of the Triad (the leaders of gang crime in the nation). So he was spoiled from a young age - good food, nice clothes, pets, toys and love from his parents who raised him as an only child.
Things were going wonderfully until his fifteenth birthday. His papa and mama took him out for a fancy dinner in a high class restaurant. Unfortunately they ran into a rival Boss - making for an uncomfortable dinner filled with glaring and murderous subtext. They left early, not wanting to get into a fight. And that’s when Cái’s parents were shot and killed right in front of his eyes. He lost it, then and there, only coming back to himself when there was a cooling corpse of the gunman at his feet - and the man’s stolen gun warm in his hands. The rival Boss saw this and before Cái could react, he was knocked unconscious and kidnapped.
The next year was a time he wished to forget... and he got his wish as he forced himself to bury the horrible memories. In return, memories of a time far distant began to return - of a time when he was not a human, but a Nation. Still, in the end, he found he couldn’t care less about his inhuman status - all he wanted was to run away and forget everything.
Allegiance: As he's joined two crews, he is both sea and sky.
Sample Role play: Portugal was never supposed to be so still and quiet. The man as he'd known him all his life always was moving - even sitting in a chair reading papers, he'd be twirling a piece of hair or humming to himself. He was so amazingly alive. It's what drew Macau to him time after time. He loved vibrant people.
It sickened him to see him unmoving and pale. The suit they'd chosen for his funeral looked terrible on him and they did his hair all wrong. The flowers were too pale - Portugal needed the brightness, the color - because it was a part of him... living or dead.
The funeral came to a close, the casket was shut and the former nation was buried with as much pomp and circumstance that his Boss could afford - which admittedly wasn't too much, considering they were at war. People lined up to pay their last respects, both human and nation alike... until he was alone, by himself.
He felt so alone these days. He couldn't talk to China about anything - Hong Kong was always too busy with England (except England was dead now too - so who would look after Hong Kong?). Portugal had always been there for him. Had been a parent and a friend all wrapped up in one, through all the hard times and the fun.
He couldn't stand to be alone. That was all Macau could think about these days. He didn't care about war, about who wronged who. They all had wronged him the moment that Portugal's heart stopped beating. So, after all the men and women and nations left, he stayed seated, staring blankly ahead. Some of the nations came to him, tried to talk to him but quickly left as he continued to ignore them.
The gun was in his hand, from where it had been kept warm in his belt. Unlocking the safety, he brought it up to his forehead and closed his eyes. Maybe... maybe after this, he'd find Portugal again. Maybe he wouldn't have to be alone anymore.
He pulled the trigger.
